The Kings
The Kings is in the middle of York, right on King's Square. It's a first-floor apartment, so you go up one flight of stairs to get in.
It's got two bedrooms, both with king-sized beds, and you get two bathrooms as well. One's attached to the main bedroom. They've both got showers. The beds are comfortable and the linen's good quality.
The main room is big. There's a sofa and chairs at one end, and a table for four at the other. The windows go from the floor to the ceiling, so you get a full view of the square. You can sit and watch the city go by.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well-finished and has everything you need. There's a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and the towels are provided.
You can't get a more central location. You're a minute's walk from the Shambles, five minutes from the Minster. The Railway Museum is about a 15-minute walk. You don't need the car for anything in the city centre, which is good because parking's tricky.
If you do drive out, the North York Moors and the coast at Whitby or Scarborough are about an hour away. Yorkshire's a big county.
