Apartment 4
This is Apartment 4, in York. It's a two-bedroom place above a shop right in the city centre.
It sleeps six. Being honest, that's with two people on the sofa bed in the living area. Fine for kids, but adults might find it a bit cosy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's clean and well-equipped but it's not a huge apartment. Everything is on one floor once you're inside.
The main thing is the location. You walk out the door and you're right there. The Shambles is a two-minute walk. York Minster is about five. You don't really need a car, and if you have one, you'll use the park and ride. The apartment has WiFi and a TV. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot.
It can be noisy. You're on a city street, so you'll hear buses and people, especially at weekends. The windows are double glazed, but you'll know you're in a city. If you want total quiet, this isn't it.
For days out, you're sorted. The York Minster is the obvious one. The National Railway Museum is free and about a 15-minute walk. Clifford's Tower is English Heritage. The Jorvik Viking Centre is just round the corner.
There are supermarkets nearby for bits and pieces. Lots of pubs and restaurants, obviously. No pets, sorry.
