5 Monkbar Mews is a ground floor apartment in a small development inside the city walls in York. I suppose the big thing is the location. You walk out the door and the medieval wall is right there, and the Minster is about two minutes up the road.
It's a two-bedroom apartment, sleeps four. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 5 Star rating which means it's well looked after and everything works. The main living space is open plan. It's a good size and has a view straight out to the old stonework, which is nice.
You've got on-site parking, which is a relief in York. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
Being right in the centre, you don't really need a car for anything. All the shops, the Jorvik Centre, the Castle Museum, they're all a short walk. The National Railway Museum is about a 15 minute walk. You can walk the city walls from the door, or just wander down to the River Ouse.
If you do drive, the Yorkshire Wolds and the North York Moors are within about half an hour for a day out. The coast at Scarborough is about 40 minutes.
