Plum Tree Retreat is a one-bedroom apartment on the outskirts of York city centre. It's across the road from the hospital, which is useful if you're visiting someone there. It's about a 25 minute walk into the middle of town, or a short drive.
It sleeps two, with one super kingsize bed. There's also a sofa bed if you need it for a child. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kept and modern. The heating is infrared panels.
The living space is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofa, and a large TV with Netflix. The kitchen has what you need for a short stay. There's a washing machine.
Outside, there's a small private garden area with seating.
For getting around, York itself is straightforward to walk into along the river. The Park & Ride at Askham Bar is very close if you'd rather do that. The racecourse is about a mile away.
Further out, within a 30 minute drive, you're on the edge of the North York Moors. Places like Castle Howard or Sutton Bank are easy to get to for a day out. The coast at Scarborough or Filey is about 45 minutes.
