Sycamore Cottage

Sycamore Cottage is in Togston, a hamlet just outside Amble in Northumberland. It's a traditional stone cottage, so it's got thick walls and small windows. It feels solid.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's a main bedroom with a double bed and its own shower room. Another double room, and a third with bunk beds. There are two bathrooms in total, one with a bath. The stairs are steep. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.

You've got a private garden with a patio, a table and chairs, and a barbecue. There's parking for two cars on the gravel drive.

Inside, the living room has a woodburning stove and a Smart TV. The kitchen is separate, through an archway. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Everything you'd need is there.

Amble is the nearest proper place. It's about a six-minute drive or a 45-minute walk if you follow the lane. The harbour's nice, there are cafes and fish and chip shops, and boats go out for fishing trips. You can walk from Amble along the coast to Warkworth, which has a great castle.

For a big beach day, Druridge Bay is about three miles south. It's a long, sandy beach managed by the National Trust. Alnwick is about 15 minutes inland. The castle and gardens are the main draw there. The Northumberland National Park is about half an hour west if you want proper hill walking.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. All bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi.
