Avocet Cottage
Avocet Cottage is in Amble, on the harbour. It's a terraced house, so you've got neighbours, but the patio garden is yours.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The interior's modern, which mostly means it's warm and the water pressure is good. It’s got a 4 Star rating. We allow one well-behaved dog.
You can walk to most things from here. The harbour is just down the road. There are a few cafés and fish restaurants there with outdoor seats. You can watch the boats. There's a market on Sunday mornings.
For a walk, you can follow the estuary path to Warkworth, which is a couple of miles. Nice castle up on the hill, a few shops and pubs.
Alnwick with its castle is about a 15-minute drive north. Further up the coast, you've got Craster, Beadnell, and Bamburgh. Holy Island is a bit further but you can do it in a day trip if you check the tide times.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've also got a stairgate and highchair if you need them.
