April House

This is April House in Amble. It's a two bedroom place down a lane off the main street. It sleeps four, with one bathroom. It's got a four star rating, so it's comfortable and kept up to date.

It's very close to everything. You can walk to the harbour, the shops, all the cafes and pubs, in about five minutes. You're in the town, so you can hear a bit of town noise sometimes, but it's mostly quiet.

The living room is a good size. There's a smart TV. The kitchen has a dishwasher. Wifi is included. You can store bikes round the back.

You can bring two dogs. There's a highchair if you need one. Bedding and towels are provided.

Amble itself is a straightforward seaside town. The harbour is nice, with little shops in pods. There's a beach with huts you can hire. The Sunday market is good. For a bigger beach, you drive a few minutes to Druridge Bay.

You can walk along the estuary to Warkworth in under an hour. The castle is there, and a couple of pubs. Driving up the coast, Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh are all within half an hour. Holy Island is about forty minutes, but check the tide times.

Alnwick with its castle and gardens is fifteen minutes drive. Alnmouth station is ten minutes away if you want to get a train to Newcastle or Edinburgh.

This whole coast is part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For historical sites, the English Heritage page for Hadrian's Wall is useful for planning.
