The stairs are a bit steep. There's a small garden out the back.
The village is quiet. There's a local pub about a five minute walk away. They do food and they let dogs in. There's also a tearoom. For a bigger shop, you drive into Pickering, which is about three miles away. It's a proper market town.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. Good walking from the door. For a day out, you can get on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering and take the steam train to Whitby. That takes about an hour and a half. Whitby is on the coast. The North York Moors National Park site has walking routes and information.
You can bring one dog. There's on site parking.
