Higgledy Hideout is a coach house in Thornton-le-Dale. It's a three-storey place for up to five people, right in the middle of the village. You get the whole place to yourselves.
It's got three bedrooms. One is a kingsize with an en-suite shower, another is a kingsize up in the eaves under big old beams, and the third is a double. There are two bathrooms in total, one with a bath. The beds are decent and comfortable.
You go in through your own door into a cobbled yard, then up some stairs to the living area. The stairs are fairly steep, as you'd expect in an old building. It's open-plan up there, with a woodburning stove. The kitchen is separate. It's been done up well, with a dishwasher and washing machine.
The village itself is very pretty. There's a stream, a few cafés, pubs, and shops, including a chocolate shop. Everything you need for a short stay is within a few minutes' walk.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Good walking starts straight from the door. The coast is about a half hour drive. Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, and Scarborough are all in that range if you want a day at the seaside. The North York Moors Railway steam trains are also nearby.
Facilities are all included: WiFi, TV, bedding, towels. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for one car on the cobbled yard at the front.
