This is Pigeon Cote. It's one of the cottages at Keld Head Farm, just outside Pickering. It's a stone barn conversion.
The cottage sleeps five. It's got two bedrooms – one has a four-poster double bed, the other has a double and a single bed. There's one bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. It's rated 4 Star.
You've got a kitchen that has what you need, and a living and dining area. There are beams and a stone fireplace. We've left a collection of books, DVDs, and board games in case you get a wet day.
Outside, you share a big enclosed garden with the other cottages here. There's a play area, some sports nets, a grass maze, and a barbecue area. You can just wander out from the cottage into the fields around the farm.
Pickering town is about a 15-minute walk. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and cafes. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway starts there, which is a big draw. There's also the castle and the church with the old wall paintings.
The North York Moors National Park is about ten minutes away by car. The coast is within a 40-minute drive – Whitby and Scarborough are the main ones. York is also about 40 minutes in the other direction if you fancy a city day.
For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot. No pets, sorry.
