Forge House is in Thornton le Dale, just off the main street. It's quiet because it's set back from the road, with its own parking. You've got a terrace right by the beck.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage. The main one has an en suite shower. The second has two singles that can zip together into a king. There's also a family bathroom with a bath and a shower.
Downstairs is open plan: kitchen, dining, and sitting area. Doors open onto the terrace. There's an electric stove for warmth. At the other end of the house, by the stairs, there's a little nook with books and a large OS map for planning walks.
The stairs are a standard flight, not a steep cottage spiral. We allow up to two dogs, as long as they're not both large. There are good walks straight from the door and lots of dog-friendly beaches about half an hour away.
Thornton le Dale has a shop and a couple of pubs. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Pickering, about two miles away.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors. Good for walking and cycling. The Dalby Forest bike trails are popular and you can get to them from here; we've got bike storage in the garage. The heritage steam railway runs from Pickering to Whitby over the moors. The coast at Scarborough or Whitby is about a 20 to 30 minute drive. Robin Hood's Bay is a bit further.
Included in the facilities are WiFi, bedding and towels, a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
