Byre Cottage
Byre Cottage is on our farm just outside Pickering. It's a stone barn we converted, so it's all on one level. There's a ramp at the front door.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. A four-poster in the main room, and a double and a single in the second room. It's a 4 Star place, which is comfortable and clean. The ceiling has old beams and there's a stone fireplace.
The kitchen is open plan with the dining area. We've left some board games and books in there. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
You get the use of a big enclosed garden we share with the other cottages. It has a play area for kids, a barbecue, and things like football nets. You can walk straight out from the door into the fields.
Pickering is about fifteen minutes' walk. There's a few shops, pubs, and cafes. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is there. The castle is worth a look too. The North York Moors National Park starts about ten minutes' drive away.
You can get to the coast in under an hour. Whitby and Scarborough are that way. York is about forty minutes in the car.
Parking is right outside. We can put a cot in if you need one. No pets, I'm afraid.
