Sweet Briar

Sweet Briar is a semi-detached cottage on the edge of Newquay. It's next to our house, but you have your own space. The street is quiet, which is good because Newquay itself can be busy.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well set up. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. Speaking of, we take up to two pets.

The facilities are what you'd need: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.

There's a shop about five minutes walk away. A pub and a restaurant are even closer, maybe three minutes.

You're well placed for the coast here. It's about a fifteen minute walk to get down to the Gannel estuary. It's good for dog walks, or if you're into paddleboarding. The proper beaches, like Fistral, are a bit further. You'd want to drive, really, especially with beach gear.

If you're surfing, Fistral is the main spot. Watergate Bay is up the coast. For something different, Padstow is half an hour's drive. It's a nice day out for food and a wander around the harbour.

If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Cornwall and South West Coast Path.
