Brooklands is in Tregaswith, near St Columb Major. It's a detached, Grade II listed cottage. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been renovated to a high standard.
The garden is fully enclosed and gets the sun most of the day. There's parking on site. The property water comes from a private well, so you might notice the pressure is a bit lower than in a town house, especially if it's been dry.
The owner lives next door. They're there if you need anything, but they won't bother you. The cottage is very dog friendly. Up to four dogs are welcome. There's an enclosed field next door where dogs can run about, and the owner offers a dog sitting service if you need it.
Inside, there's a woodburner in the living room. The kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher, and washing machine. There's Sky TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You'll find a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones.
St Columb Major is about a mile and a half away. It's got a few pubs and shops. For a big supermarket, you'd drive to Newquay or Wadebridge.
The north coast beaches are about a fifteen minute drive. Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth are good for families and dogs. Fistral is for surfing. National Trust Cornwall has several nearby coastal spots, like Trerice and Carnewas at Bedruthan.
Newquay is about twenty minutes by car. As well as the beaches, there's the zoo and the aquarium. For walking, the South West Coast Path is easily accessible. Padstow, with Rick Stein's places and the harbour, is about half an hour's drive.
If you're planning trips, the Cornwall Council countryside site has useful information on rights of way.
