Brooklands is in Tregaswith, which is a small hamlet near St Columb Major. It's a detached, old stone cottage. The garden is enclosed so it's safe for dogs or kids.
The cottage sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms, but only one bathroom. That's the main thing to know. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The stairs are steep in parts, as you'd expect. The owner lives next door, which is handy if you need anything. The property has its own water supply from a private well, so you just need to be mindful of usage in very dry spells.
The kitchen is a good size and has everything, including a range cooker, dishwasher, and washing machine. There's a woodburner in the living room. The garden gets the sun and has a barbecue and seating.
It's a very dog-friendly place. You can have up to four dogs. The owner provides towels and treats for them, and offers a dog-sitting service in their own field if you want to go out without them.
For local amenities, there's a shop a short walk away in the hamlet. St Columb Major is down the road and has a few pubs and places to eat.
The north coast beaches are about a fifteen to twenty minute drive. Newquay is the closest, with Fistral and Watergate Bay. Mawgan Porth and Crantock are also nearby and dog-friendly year-round.
Within half an hour you can get to Padstow, or towards Perranporth and St Agnes. For a day out further in, the National Trust has several places like Trerice or the Holywell Bay area. The Cornwall AONB site has good walking information.
Included in the price: all bedding and towels, WiFi, Sky TV, cot, highchair, stairgate. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
