Fifty Six is on the White Cross park just outside Newquay. It’s a little two-bedroom mid-terrace house on a big holiday park.
It sleeps four - a double bedroom and a twin room upstairs, and one bathroom with a shower. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and modern inside. It’s all open plan downstairs, which I find makes it feel a bit more sociable. The stairs are a standard sort of staircase, not too steep.
There’s a pub on the park that does food, which is handy. It’s about a five minute walk. There’s also a launderette on site if you need it.
You’re about a 15-20 minute drive from the main beaches. That’s Watergate Bay, Porth, and Fistral. Fistral is where the surfers go. Newquay town centre is the same sort of drive for shops and restaurants.
If you want to go further, Padstow is about half an hour up the coast. Port Isaac, where they filmed Doc Martin, is a similar drive. Tintagel Castle is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. It’s managed by English Heritage so you can check opening times.
For facilities, you’ve got a TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you’re bringing a little one. The park itself has a kids’ play area. Sorry, no pets.
If you’re planning walks, the South West Coast Path is all along here. The Visit Cornwall site is useful for ideas.
