Merlin View
Merlin View is a cottage on the farm where we live, in St Mawgan. It's one of a pair. The cottage is yours, but the farm land around it is shared with us and the other cottage. We farm cattle and sheep here, so you'll see them in the fields.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The Star rating is 3, which is right. It's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The layout is open plan downstairs.
You have your own enclosed garden area with a patio. There's a barbecue. Inside, there's a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. The stairs have a stairgate fitted. Parking is right outside.
You can bring up to two dogs. They need to be on a lead near the livestock, but there's a nature trail through our 15 acres of woodland where they can have a proper run.
The location is quiet. The beach at Mawgan Porth is about two miles away. It's a good sandy beach. Watergate Bay is three miles. For shops and more places to eat, Newquay is about eight miles one way and Padstow is about eight miles the other.
In the village, St Mawgan, which is a mile down the lane, there's a pub. They do food. There's also a post office with a tearoom, and a few interesting little shops.
If you're planning trips out, National Trust Cornwall has good information. The Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive from here.
