Tolcarne Retreat
Tolcarne Retreat is in Newquay, on a quiet road. It's a ten minute walk into town, but Tolcarne Beach itself is just four minutes from the door. That's the main thing.
It sleeps eight, has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One bathroom is downstairs, which is handy for getting sand off. There's space for wetsuits and boards by the back door. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
The garden is enclosed. It has an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ. There's parking for a couple of cars and an electric car charger.
Inside, there's a games room with a pool table, table football and darts. The stairs are fairly standard, not especially steep for a Cornish house.
You're two hundred yards from a pub and a shop. The beach has a bar and restaurant right on the sand. You can hire surf gear there too.
From the beach, you can walk left into Newquay town centre, or right to Lusty Glaze and on to Porth Beach when the tide is out.
Newquay has all the surf shops and schools you'd expect. There are also boating lakes in the park nearby, and horse riding along the Gannel estuary.
For a day out, Padstow is about a forty minute drive up the coast. The National Trust and Cornwall Council sites are good for planning walks. The Visit Cornwall website lists events.
Facilities include all the basics: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. It accepts two dogs.
