Ocean View - Mawgan Porth

This is Ocean View in Mawgan Porth. It’s a big place for a group, sleeps twelve with six bedrooms. It’s actually two places joined together, a four-bedroom house on the ground floor and a separate two-bed flat upstairs. They’re connected inside but each has its own kitchen and living space, so it works well for a few families together.

It’s a four-star place, which means it’s finished to a good standard. Everything’s been done up recently. You get all the linen and towels, and there's Wi-Fi and Sky TV. There’s parking for a few cars on the drive.

The main thing is the position. It’s right on the cliff above Mawgan Porth beach. The views from the garden and the upstairs flat are straight out to sea. It’s a short walk down to the sand, maybe five minutes. The coast path runs past the bottom of the garden.

Outside, there’s a big decked area with a dining table, sofas, a barbecue and a hot tub. There’s also a warm outdoor shower which is handy after the beach. The garden is south facing, so you get the sun.

Inside the main house, it’s open plan. There’s a proper kitchen with a dishwasher, a big table, and a lounge area that opens onto the deck. There’s also a separate room with a pool table and a big TV. Three bathrooms in total for the whole property. There’s a washing machine and a utility room too.

The flat upstairs is reached by its own external staircase, about thirteen steps. Its whole front is glass, so the view is even better from up there. It has its own little balcony.

Mawgan Porth itself has a shop, a couple of cafes and a pub. The beach is good for surfing, there are places to hire boards or get lessons. You can walk the coast path to Watergate Bay one way or towards Bedruthan Steps the other. The Carnewas tea rooms at Bedruthan are about a fifteen minute walk.

For a day out, Padstow is about a fifteen minute drive. You’ve got all the restaurants there and the harbour. Newquay is roughly twenty minutes in the other direction.
