The property is called Hen Harrier Lodge. It's in Talskiddy, Cornwall. It's a detached timber lodge. It's on a quiet, gated site with fishing lakes and some woodland walks around it.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. The inside has been done up nicely, it's comfortable. The garden is fully enclosed with artificial grass. There's a hot tub area. We take one dog.
The stairs are fine, and there's a level entrance from the parking area, so it works if you have someone with limited mobility. Everything is on one floor once you're inside.
You've got a pub and restaurant about a quarter of a mile away. The local shop is two miles. Over the road there's a Birds of Prey Centre you can visit for a charge.
You're quite central for getting about. Padstow is a few miles away. It's a proper old fishing harbour with pasty shops and narrow lanes. You can hire bikes there and cycle along the Camel Estuary trail towards Wadebridge.
Newquay is also close. That's where the main surfing beaches are, like Fistral. There's a zoo, a cinema, and lots of places to eat. Port Isaac, Polzeath, and Rock are all within a 30 minute drive.
For walking, you're near the South West Coast Path. The coast here has lots of small sandy coves. If you fancy seeing different gardens or the south coast, places like Falmouth or the Lost Gardens of Heligan are about an hour's drive.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside.
If you're coming with more people, you can book the place next door, Eagle Owl Lodge, as well.
