Hen Harrier Lodge-Uc3979

Hen Harrier Lodge is on our site at Talskiddy, near Newquay. It’s a detached timber lodge. You’re on a quiet, gated site which is also home to The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre. For guests, it's a tenner for up to six people for the week, and you can go as many times as you like. That’s quite a good deal if you’ve got kids.

The lodge sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, so it’s well finished and comfortable. Everything is on one level which is handy if stairs are a problem. There’s a step into the property from outside, but there’s a ramp for wheelchair access.

The garden is enclosed with artificial grass, so it’s secure for dogs and easy to keep clean. There’s a big decked area with a barbecue, outdoor furniture, and sun loungers. There’s also a hot tub.

On site, there are fishing lakes and some woodland walks. You can be out in the countryside without getting in the car.

For shops and things, the nearest pub and restaurant is about a quarter of a mile away. The proper shops are in Newquay, about two miles. Padstow is about a 15-minute drive. It’s a nice fishing harbour with pasty shops and Rick Stein’s places. You can hire bikes there and cycle the Camel Trail towards Wadebridge.

The coast is close. Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach are about a 20-minute drive for surfing or a walk. Newquay has the surf shops and the zoo. For a different day out, Port Isaac or Polzeath are about half an hour. The South West Coast Path is all along here if you like walking.

Inside, it’s open plan with a woodburning stove. It’s got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog. There’s parking right outside.

If you’re planning trips, the National Trust has a lot of properties and coast nearby.
