Beech Lodge is part of Retallack Resort, near Lanhainsworth. It's a detached lodge in the middle of the countryside, about halfway between Padstow and Newquay.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was refurbished a few years back so it's in good order.
The main thing here is the space. It's on two levels and feels quite roomy. Outside there are decked balconies where you can sit and look out over the fields. Good for a BBQ if the weather's right.
Being on the resort means you have the shared facilities. There's a swimming pool, a restaurant and bar on site, and a pitch and putt course. You can also use the wave machine, but that's an extra cost you book by the hour.
The location is handy. You're about a 15-minute drive from the coast either way. Padstow has the harbour and some good places to eat. Newquay is more for surfing and beaches. Both have a different feel.
Further afield, you've got the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan within half an hour. There are plenty of National Trust properties around too, like Trerice or Lanhydrock.
The lodge is set up for families. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. They also allow up to four pets.
