Little Owl Lodge

Little Owl Lodge is on the site of the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre near Talskiddy. It's a big, detached wooden eco-lodge. Because of that, you're pretty much guaranteed to see hawks and owls flying about from the garden.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The layout is all open plan downstairs which is good if you’ve got a wheelchair or a pushchair. There’s a wood burning stove for cooler evenings.

The place has everything you’d need: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.

It’s worth knowing the lodge is on a site with a few others. Some of them might still be getting finished off next to you. There’s fishing on the lakes here and you can watch the bird flying displays.

For food, there’s a good restaurant run by an award-winning chef about half a mile away. The nearest proper shop and pub are in St. Columb Major, about three miles.

You’re in a good spot for getting around. Padstow is a ten minute drive. You’ve got Rick Stein’s places there, and it’s where the Camel Trail starts for cycling or walking. Newquay and its beaches are about fifteen minutes the other way. Watergate Bay is also close.

If you want a big day out, the Eden Project is about half an hour’s drive. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a bit further. There are plenty of National Trust properties nearby too.
