Hobby Lodge is a timber lodge in Talskiddy, Cornwall. It’s in a wooded area. The lodge is detached and you can see neighbours, but it's very quiet. You can get onto the A30 easily, but you’d never know it was there.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Both have walk-in showers. One bedroom has its own shower room. There's a wood burner in the living area. The kitchen is fine, it has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
Outside, there's a deck with garden furniture and a built-in barbecue. The garden is enclosed with a solid fence and gate. There's an outside shower, which is good for washing off sand. It's not fancy, just practical. There's a hot tub sunk into the deck.
It's five-star graded, which in practical terms means it's well-finished and has a consistent standard.
You can bring one dog. They ask for a £30 supplement.
For beaches, you have a lot of options nearby. You're only a few minutes from Padstow by car. Newquay, Polzeath, Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are all within about half an hour. They’re good for surfing.
The Camel Trail is easy to get to from here. You can hire bikes in Padstow or Wadebridge and cycle along the old railway line. It’s flat. Bodmin Moor is about a 20 minute drive if you want more open space.
Padstow has shops and restaurants, including Rick Stein's places. The harbour has fishing trips if that's your thing.
A few useful links if you're planning: National Trust Cornwall and Visit Cornwall.
There's parking on the driveway for three cars. All bedding and towels are included. The property has WiFi.
If you've got a bigger group, you can also book the lodge next door, Peregrine Lodge.
