Puckoo's Nest

It's called Puckoo's Nest. It's just outside Newquay, up above the Gannel estuary. You're up high, so you get good views over the water.

It's a townhouse spread over three floors, sleeps six. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well kitted out and finished to a high standard.

The layout is reversed. The main living area and kitchen are on the middle floor to make the most of the view. There's a big balcony off the top floor bedroom. It's an eco house, runs on an air source heat pump with underfloor heating.

The stairs are a light oak and glass design. They're open, so just be aware if you've got very small children.

You can walk down to the estuary from the house. It's a nature reserve. From there, you can cross over to Crantock Beach at low tide, or walk along to Fistral. There's a big shed for storing surfboards and an outdoor shower for wetsuits.

Newquay town centre is a short drive, or a decent walk. It's got all the beaches, shops, and places to eat you'd expect. The South West Coast Path runs right past.

Within about half an hour's drive, you've got plenty. The Eden Project, the biomes are worth seeing. Healey's Cyder Farm. Trerice is a National Trust house. For a proper day out, you can get down to St Ives or across to Padstow.

For facilities: it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, all bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair. You can bring one dog. There's parking for two cars on the private drive behind electric gates.
