The Old Butchers is in Crantock, right in the village. It's detached, so no neighbours through the walls. It used to be the local butchers shop, hence the name.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps when everyone's trying to get out. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything works.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got a dog or kids. There's parking right there for two cars.
The village has a pub about a five minute walk away. It's a proper local. The shop is a little further, maybe ten minutes. For a big shop, you'd drive to Newquay.
The beach is the main thing. It's a few minutes' walk down the lane. A really good sandy beach with dunes. You can walk across the Gannel estuary at low tide. It's part of the Cornwall AONB.
Newquay is about three miles if you want surf shops or more restaurants. Watergate Bay is five miles. Truro is about twenty minutes by car for the cathedral and shops. Padstow is maybe half an hour, but the traffic can be bad in summer.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We take one well-behaved dog.
For planning days out, the National Trust Cornwall page is useful. The coast path runs right past here.
