It's called the Manor House but it's not a huge stately home. It's a proper old house from the 1400s in West Pentire, near Crantock. Sleeps thirteen, seven bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is full of character, beams and all that. It's attached to Manor Cottage but you wouldn't know it, you're completely separate.
The best bit is the sitting room upstairs. You get the full view out to the coast from there. The garden's yours, it's nice.
You're about 300 yards from a cliff path that goes down to Crantock Beach. Miles of sand. It's National Trust land all around, so the walking is brilliant. The National Trust Cornwall site has good info on the local coast.
The Bowgie Inn is right next door. They do food and have Sky Sports. There's a shop about a mile away in Crantock village.
Things to know: the stairs are old and a bit uneven. There's a ground floor wet room which is handy. You can bring up to three dogs. It's on the green in the hamlet, so it feels quiet but you're not isolated.
Newquay is about five miles away if you need more shops or that. Truro is about a 25 minute drive for the cathedral or bigger stores. For surfing, Perranporth and its beach is about a 20 minute drive south. You can hire gear there in the summer.
Facilities: it's got wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ. Bedding is included. There's parking. They've got a cot if you need one.
