Grove Cottage is a detached house in Newchurch. It's just off the main road through the village, which means you get a good view over the fields at the back. It sleeps ten, so it's good for a big family or two families together. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of those bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor, which is handy if stairs are a problem for anyone.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. It's comfortable, not just a basic holiday let.
The garden is enclosed. It's got a patio area with a BBQ and a bit of lawn. It's sunny in the afternoon. You can park two, maybe three cars on the drive.
The stairs inside are a normal, modern flight. Nothing too steep. We provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a washing machine.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed, but do check the gates when you arrive as some dogs are clever.
Newchurch is quiet. There's a good pub about five minutes walk away that does food. The village shop is a mile away, so you'll likely drive to it. For a bigger shop, Sandown is ten minutes by car.
Sandown has the usual seaside stuff: a pier, amusements, crazy golf. The beach is sandy and slopes gently, good for kids. Shanklin is a bit further, maybe fifteen minutes. It's got the Chine gardens and the thatched roofs.
Around here, you've got Amazon World Zoo Park and Robin Hill Adventure Park, both about five minutes away. The Garlic Farm is interesting if you like that sort of thing. For a day out, Osborne House is about twenty-five minutes drive. The sailing is at Cowes, which is half an hour.
Being in the middle of the island, you can get to most coasts within twenty to thirty minutes. The south coast, like Ventnor, has some good cliff walks. The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty site has maps if you want to plan walks.
If you need more space, the cottage next door, Devonia, is almost identical. They can be booked together.
