Fair Isle Holiday Cottages - Fastnet
Fair Isle Holiday Cottages is a new build, up on the edge of Newport. This one is called Fastnet. It's detached, so you're not sharing any walls. Built in 2021 so everything feels fresh.
It sleeps six, three bedrooms. Two bathrooms which is handy. One's an en-suite to the main bedroom, the other's a separate wet room with a walk-in shower. It's all on one level so there aren't any stairs to worry about.
The main room is open plan. The kitchen's at one end, living area in the middle, dining table at the other. There are big bi-fold doors that open right up onto a long balcony. You get the morning sun out there and a clear view over the fields. Good spot for a cuppa.
The garden wraps around the place. There's furniture out there. Parking for two, maybe three cars on the drive.
You're a couple of minutes' drive from the main road into Newport. The local shop and a restaurant are about a mile away. The nearest pub is just over a mile, maybe a twenty minute walk if you fancy it.
It's a decent spot for getting about. Ryde seafront is about ten minutes in the car. The beach at Spring Vale, which is sandy, is about a fifteen minute drive. If you like walking, you can pick up the bridle paths from here into Arreton or Newport without needing the car.
Lots to do nearby. Carisbrooke Castle is close. So is Osborne House. The Garlic Farm and Arreton Barns are just down the road in Arreton. Robin Hill is a few minutes further on for kids. The island's small, so you're never more than half an hour from most things. Ventnor, The Needles, all within easy reach.
Inside it's got the basics: TV, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. All bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible from the car park into the house. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
