The Boathouse is in East Cowes, right on the water. You look straight out across the river Medina to West Cowes. It's a ground floor flat in what used to be a lifeboat station, so the ceilings are high and there are old beams. It's a listed building.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One has a king bed with its own bathroom. The other has twins and there's another bathroom nearby. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a decent-sized garden that's enclosed, and patio doors from the main room.
You're about twenty yards from a public slipway. If you had a small boat or a kayak, you could keep it here and launch it straight out.
The esplanade outside is good for a flat walk along the water. Cowes is just over the other side. It's known for sailing. A big park with a kids' play area is a short walk away.
Other places you can get to in about half an hour include Osborne House, which is Queen Victoria's old place. Carisbrooke Castle is about twenty minutes. For a day out, The Needles and Alum Bay are roughly half an hour's drive. If you head south, Ventnor Botanic Garden is a bit less than that.
It has parking. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and Wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs.
