The Boathouse
The Boathouse is in East Cowes, on the waterfront. It's part of the old lifeboat station, so it's right on the edge of the water looking over to West Cowes. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms.
It's Grade II listed so there are a lot of beams and high ceilings. It's on the ground floor. The main room is open plan with doors out to a lawned garden. The garden is enclosed and looks straight out over the water.
You're about twenty yards from a public slipway. If you brought a small boat, you could keep it here and launch it straight into the estuary.
There's a park nearby with a play area. For sailing, Cowes is just across the water. For a day out, Osborne House is close by. The English Heritage site has all the details.
The Needles and Blackgang Chine are both about a thirty minute drive. So is Ventnor if you like the botanical gardens.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Towels and bedding are included. It's a 4 Star place. It accepts pets, up to three.
