Toad Hall

Toad Hall is in Island Harbour Marina. It's a terraced cottage, looks quite small from the outside but it's bigger inside than you'd think. It sleeps four, with two double bedrooms. They both have their own bathroom with a bath and shower. That's quite handy, no queueing.

It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not fancy. The stairs go to the top bedroom, they're fine but they're cottage stairs. There's a stairgate at the bottom.

You're right on the marina. The view from the front windows is of the river. The back door opens onto a small, walled garden with a table and chairs. It's a sunny spot for a coffee.

Inside, there's a sitting room with a gas stove, TV, and some books and games. The kitchen has what you need, plus a dishwasher and a washing machine in the utility room. Parking is in a big shared car park about a minute's walk from the door. You can pull up to unload.

The marina itself has a bar and restaurant called The Breeze, about five minutes' walk away. They do food. There's also a small boatyard shop for basics. The famous Folly Inn is about a mile's walk up the river path. That's a nice stroll for a pint.

For getting around, it's easy. You're only about three miles from the Fishbourne or East Cowes ferry terminals. Newport is a couple of miles away for shops and supermarkets. You can walk or cycle there along the river path.

One thing to mention: the nearby pond and the marina edges aren't fenced, so you need to keep an eye on children and dogs. We can take one well-behaved dog.

In terms of places to visit, Osborne House is very close. Carisbrooke Castle isn't far either. The coastal path is accessible and the whole island is easy to explore from here.
