Toad Hall is in Whippingham, on the Isle of Wight. It's a yachtsman's cottage inside Island Harbour Marina. It's a three-storey house, so there are a fair few stairs, just so you know.
It sleeps four, sometimes five with a z-bed for a child. There are two bedrooms, both doubles, and each has its own bathroom with a bath and an electric shower. That's quite useful. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The house is easy to get to, about three miles from the Fishbourne or East Cowes ferry terminals. You park in a big shared car park a minute's walk from the door after you've unloaded.
Right on the marina there's a bar and restaurant called The Breeze, about five minutes' walk. They do food and there's a kids' play area. There's also a small boatyard shop for basics and drinks. The garden at the back is small and enclosed, with a table and chairs.
The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, and a dishwasher. There's a washing machine and freezer in a utility room. The sitting room has a gas stove and a TV. Wi-Fi, all the gas and electricity, bedding and towels are included.
For getting out, there's a nice path along the river. One way leads to Newport, which has shops and pubs. The other way, about a mile's walk up the river, takes you to The Folly Inn. Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle are a short drive away.
The marina and a pond are right there and they aren't fenced, so you'll need to keep an eye if you've got kids or a dog.
