Fair Isle House is one of ours. It's a detached house on the estate, sleeps ten. It's reverse-level, so the main living area is upstairs. That's because the views over the countryside are better from up there. You get all of it to yourselves.
It's got five bedrooms and, usefully, five bathrooms. Means no queues in the morning. The furnishings are what you'd call traditional. Comfortable, but not minimalist. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a barbecue. It's a good space if the weather's right.
The location is just outside Newport, set back in the fields. There's a pub and a shop about a mile away. The bus stop into Newport and Ryde is a five-minute walk if you don't want to drive.
If you like walking or cycling, you can get onto the bridle paths from here and go into Newport or over to Arreton without touching a main road. The beach is about seven miles, so you'll need to drive for that.
Being central on the island, you can get to most things within half an hour. The Needles and Alum Bay are that way. Robin Hill Adventure Park is close. So is Arreton Barns, if you're interested in local crafts. For history, Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle are both easy drives. Ventnor Botanic Garden is down south.
Facilities are what you'd hope for. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The house has a 4 Star rating. We can also help arrange discounted ferry travel for you.
For planning days out, the Visit Isle of Wight site is thorough. The National Trust looks after several properties and areas here too.
