Solent Lawns
Solent Lawns is in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. It's a 5 Star house, which just means it's well finished and has everything you need. It's up on a bit of a hill, about a three minute walk down to the seafront at Gurnard.
The house sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a reverse layout, so the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the main living space is upstairs. That's because of the view. The main room has big patio doors that open onto a large glass balcony. You can sit out there and look right across the Solent. In the summer, you see all the sailing races. The Round the Island Race goes right past.
Downstairs is straightforward. The bedrooms are fine, good for sleeping. There's a separate utility room with a washing machine, which is useful when you come back from the beach.
Gurnard itself has a small green with a playpark for kids, a pub, a cafe, and a good restaurant. You can walk along the seafront into Cowes town centre in maybe 20, 25 minutes. Cowes has all the shops, more pubs and places to eat. It's the sailing centre.
Facilities: there's parking for one car on the drive. You've got WiFi, a dishwasher, a BBQ in the garden. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
For days out, the National Trust Isle of Wight page is good for planning. Osborne House is about a 15 minute drive. The Needles and the west side of the island are about 40 minutes by car.
