Solent Lawns

Solent Lawns is in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It's a New-England style house, basically a big white weatherboard place with a balcony, set back from Gurnard seafront. It's about a three minute walk to the beach.

It's a reverse-level layout. The three bedrooms are downstairs, two have en-suites, which is handy. Upstairs is one big open room with the kitchen, dining area, and sitting room. The patio doors open onto a big glass balcony. You get a proper view of the Solent from there.

In the summer, you can sit out there and watch all the sailing. The 'Round the Island' race goes right past. It's a good spot for a drink in the evening.

It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well looked after and has everything you'd need. There's parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine in a separate utility room. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.

Gurnard village is a short walk. There's a shop, a cafe, a pub, and a good restaurant. There's also a green with a pirate-themed play park for kids. You can walk along the seafront path all the way into Cowes town centre in about twenty minutes. Cowes has more shops, places to eat, and the ferry terminal.

If you want to explore, the whole island is within easy reach. Osborne House is about fifteen minutes by car. The Needles and Alum Bay are maybe forty minutes. The National Trust has a few properties and walks around the island. Visit Isle of Wight is useful for planning days out.
