Southview
Southview is a cottage in Porchfield. It’s the first house on the lane, so it’s surrounded by fields on three sides. The lane is very quiet, just used for access to the fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s clean and comfy but not luxurious. The stairs are normal for a cottage.
The garden is fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. There’s a patio area with furniture and a BBQ. You can park one car easily, or two if you arrange it.
Inside, there’s a big living and dining room with a wood burner. We lay it for you so it’s ready to light. The floor is wood. There’s a table for four, a sofa, an armchair, and a bean bag.
Upstairs, both bedrooms are doubles but we can make them into singles if you ask. They look out over the fields. You often see farm animals or birds out there.
You can walk to a lot from here. Newtown Nature Reserve is to the west. There’s a quiet beach called Elmsworth to the south, about two miles. Parkhurst Forest, which is the biggest on the island, is to the east. You can walk to all of them on quiet roads or footpaths if you don’t mind a proper walk.
The local pub is about half a mile away. It does good food. There are a couple of others within two miles. Newport is three miles away for supermarkets and shops.
Nothing on the island is very far. You can drive to most places within 45 minutes. We’ve left maps and leaflets in the cottage for ideas.
Facilities: there’s WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. We’ve got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There’s a walk-in shower.
