Winkle Cottage
Winkle Cottage is on Winkle Street in Calbourne. It's a two-bedroom cottage that sleeps four. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the stream. There's a garden that runs down to it. You get ducks coming up, so if you've got kids they'll like that. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs.
It's all on one level, which makes it easier for getting around. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. We leave bedding and towels.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. There's also a shed for bike storage.
For the local area, the village has a shop and a pub. The Military Road for cycling is close by. The west coast is about a fifteen-minute drive. That's where you find spots like Freshwater Bay.
Yarmouth is about twenty minutes by car. It's an old town with a castle, places to eat, and a ferry to Lymington. The Needles and Alum Bay are a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes. There's a chairlift there and boat trips.
Newport is the main town for bigger supermarkets. It's about a twenty-minute drive inland.
