Madeline Angevine is a cottage on Rossiter's Vineyard Barn site in Wellow. There are a few cottages together here, but Madeline Angevine is a single-storey one. It's got three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it sleeps six. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-finished.
It's open plan inside, with wooden floors and beams. The kitchen's part of that space. You've got a washing machine and a dishwasher.
Outside, there's a small patio area with a hot tub. The whole site is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's on-site parking.
Wellow is a quiet village. There's a pub, a shop, and a restaurant about a mile away. The site itself has a part-time post office service. There's also an alpaca farm nearby.
Yarmouth is the nearest proper town, about three miles away. That's where the car ferry from Lymington comes in. It's got a harbour, shops, and places to eat. Cowes is about a twenty-minute drive if you're into sailing.
The coast is close. Colwell Bay and Totland Bay are good for a swim and watching the sunset. Compton Bay, a bit further south, is better for surfing and fossil hunting. National Trust Isle of Wight looks after some of the best beaches and walks, like the one at The Needles. You can see The Needles from the headland, and Alum Bay is right there with the cliff lift.
For walking, the Tennyson Trail and other paths start nearby. The full Round the Island route goes past if you're cycling.
Other places you might drive to include Carisbrooke Castle, which is about twenty minutes away, or Osborne House near East Cowes. Tapnell Farm Park is popular if you've got children.
The cottage is on one level, so the bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the same floor. Two pets are welcome. Bedding and towels are included, and we provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
