Madeline Angevine is a cottage in Wellow. It’s single-storey, which is unusual, so no stairs at all. The cottage is terraced, part of a small group of buildings, and set within an old vineyard. You're on the western side of the Isle of Wight, which is quiet.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, no real frills but it's been looked after properly.
You have your own patio with a hot tub. The garden is enclosed which is useful if you have kids or dogs. We allow two dogs.
The village itself has a pub and a shop about a mile away. For a bigger shop, Yarmouth is a five minute drive. It’s a harbour town with places to eat and you can get the ferry from there. Cowes, the sailing town, is about twenty minutes by car.
The coast is close. Colwell Bay is good for swimming, the water is calm. Totland Bay has a couple of places for food and drink. If you want surf, Compton Bay faces the open sea. It’s about a fifteen minute drive. The Needles landmark is out that way too.
There are plenty of walks from the door, including tracks along the old railway line. The site has cycle hire if you want it. The National Trust Isle of Wight page is good for planning days out. For local footpaths and bridleways, Visit Isle of Wight has maps.
Inside, it’s open plan. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. All bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site.
