Moonbeam House is in Freshwater, on the Isle of Wight. It's one of a row of four Victorian villas. They were built for retired navy officers, which I've always thought was interesting.
It sleeps six. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's spacious and has kept a lot of the original features. The stairs are a typical Victorian style, so they're a bit steeper than modern ones.
The house has gardens at the front and back. You get a good view of the sea from upstairs. It's about a ten-minute walk down to Freshwater Bay beach.
For practical things, there's a local shop about five minutes walk away. A pub and a restaurant are even closer, about two minutes. The bus stop is right outside, which is handy for getting around without a car.
You can store bikes here. The island is good for cycling. The Isle of Wight Coastal Path goes right past. Tennyson Down is a popular walk, and the Needles at Alum Bay are about a twenty-minute drive. Compton Bay, which is good for surfing, is ten minutes by car.
There's a golf course at Freshwater Bay. A leisure centre with a pool is in the village.
For facilities: it's got parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
If you're planning visits, the National Trust Isle of Wight page is useful, as is Visit Isle of Wight.
