Southview Cottage
Southview Cottage is in Wellow on the Isle of Wight. It's a thatched cottage, one of the old ones. It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The roof is thatched, so the ceilings are low in places. The doorframes are low too. If you're tall, you'll need to mind your head. The garden is enclosed and there's parking on the drive.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for the cooler evenings. We leave some wood for you. There's a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
Wellow itself is quiet. There's a village green and a local pub. You can walk to the coast from the cottage, it takes about half an hour across the fields.
For getting around, you're quite central. Newport is about ten minutes by car for the bigger shops. The coast at Yarmouth or Cowes is about fifteen minutes away. Carisbrooke Castle is close, maybe a ten minute drive. Osborne House is near East Cowes, that's about twenty minutes.
If you like walking, the Tennyson Trail starts nearby. For a good beach, Compton Bay is about twenty minutes drive. The island is small, so nothing is really more than a thirty minute drive.
