This is Sandrock, in Brighstone on the Isle of Wight. It's a detached house at the end of a quiet lane. You get a good lawned garden that's fully enclosed, which is handy. The view from the back over the fields is the main thing, really. You can see the sea from the main bedroom.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a proper kitchen with a dishwasher, and a conservatory that gets the sun. The washing machine is in the utility room. We've put in an electric vehicle charger now, too.
Brighstone village is about ten minutes' walk down the lane. There's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a small museum. The coast path is right on the doorstep. You can walk for miles from the house, either down to the beaches or up onto the Downs. The Tennyson Trail is up there.
Compton Beach is the closest good sand beach, about a ten minute drive. Freshwater Bay is popular for swimming and is a bit closer. For a day out, The Needles are about twenty minutes by car. Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House are both within half an hour.
The house has a woodburning stove, a BBQ, and bike storage if you bring cycles. There's a cot, a highchair, and a stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. We accept up to two dogs.
