This is Pigeon Coo Farmhouse, near Cranmore on the north coast of the Isle of Wight. It's a big old farmhouse from the Tudor period, or partly anyway, which used to be cottages for Hamstead Grange. It's one of a pair. Sleeps nine, in five bedrooms.
It's got two bathrooms and a downstairs loo, which is handy. There's a wood burner in the living room, plus a dishwasher and washing machine. The garden is yours to use, with a patio. We include all bedding and towels. You can bring two dogs.
The place has a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's old though, so there are low beams in places. Just mind your head.
You're right in a conservation area. The Hamstead Heritage Coast is out the back door. You can walk straight onto the coastal path from the property. Newtown Creek and the old town are a short walk away. The nearest beach is about a mile.
There's a local shop and a pub serving food, also about a mile away. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Yarmouth or Newport.
Within about half an hour you can get to most places on the island. The Needles and Alum Bay are to the west. Osborne House is towards East Cowes. For a day out with kids, Tapnell Farm Park is close by, or Blackgang Chine further south. The sailing is at Cowes. For walking, the island's coastal path is on your doorstep.
