It's called Lymington Lodge. The name makes it sound bigger than it is. It's a detached lodge built for two people. It's in the grounds of our house, about 200 yards from the sea wall.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and comfortable inside. The main room is open plan, with a sofa and a wood burner. The bed's a super king size. The shower is a good one, a walk-in monsoon type. Towels and dressing gowns are provided.
Outside, you've got your own decking area at the front. You can see the sea from there, and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight across the Solent. There's a tennis court across the lawn you're welcome to use.
We have free range chickens, ducks and geese, and two friendly dogs that wander about. Because of the animals, we can't accept any pets.
Lymington town is a short walk away. There's a proper high street with shops, pubs, restaurants and a marina. There's a market on Saturdays. The car ferry to the Isle of Wight leaves from there if you fancy a day trip.
The New Forest is right on your doorstep. You can walk straight out into it. Ponies and cattle wander around freely, so you have to drive carefully. You can cycle on the tracks too. The beach is about three and a half miles away.
For a day out, New Forest National Park has all the information on walking and cycling. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coast and heathland around here. Beaulieu Motor Museum and Exbury Gardens are about a 20 minute drive. Bucklers Hard is also close.
Further afield, within about 30-40 minutes, you've got Bournemouth and its beaches, Southampton, and the start of the Dorset coast.
Facilities wise: it's all on the ground floor, there's parking, wifi, a dishwasher, and it's wheelchair accessible. Bedding and towels are included.
