Pond Cottage is over in Sandy Down, near the New Forest. It's a detached place, stone built and listed. There's a long gravel drive up to it off a lane. It's surrounded by fields.
Sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's generally well looked after. One double bedroom and a shower room are on the ground floor. Upstairs has the other three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The stairs are fine.
The kitchen is a good size, with a big table and doors out to the garden. There's underfloor heating in there. The garden is enclosed. You'll see deer and pheasants. There's no pond in our garden, but there is a big one next door which you can see from the house.
There's a pub about half a mile away, you can walk there via a footpath. Or it's a bit longer by road. They do food. Brockenhurst village is about five minutes in the car. They've got a good bakery, shops, and places to hire bikes. Lymington is about ten minutes away. It's a proper sailing town with a harbour and ferry to the Isle of Wight.
The New Forest is right there. You can walk straight out onto the heath. The ponies wander everywhere. For days out, Beaulieu Motor Museum is close by, and so is Buckler's Hard. New Forest National Park Authority has maps and information if you want to plan walks or rides.
Facilities: parking on the drive, an electric vehicle charger, woodburner, washing machine, cot and highchair. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included.
