The Cottage by the Quay is in Lymington, right near the harbour. It’s a semi-detached place and sleeps two. There are two bedrooms and two shower rooms, which is useful.
It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean but not posh. The building is old, from Tudor times, and it’s the oldest part of the house. The owners live in the other part. The stairs are quite steep, as you’d expect for the age.
You have your own patio in a shared walled garden. It’s quiet there, but you’re right in the middle of things. The quay is just steps away. There are two good fish shops very close. The high street is two minutes walk. A pub is about 100 yards away.
For a walk, you can go from the cottage past the sea water baths and out onto the salt marshes in about ten minutes. You can get the ferry to the Isle of Wight from the quay.
The New Forest is right there. You’ll see the ponies. It’s good for walking or cycling. By car, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Exbury Gardens are about a 15-minute drive. Bucklers Hard is similar.
Further out, within about 30 minutes, you’ve got places like Paultons Park for a day out. The beaches at Bournemouth, Sandbanks and Poole are about a 20-30 minute drive.
Inside, there’s a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
