The Cottage By The Quay is on Bath Road in Lymington, right by the old harbour. It's semi-detached, the oldest part of the building. We live next door in the newer part. You get the walled garden to yourselves, it's shared with us but it's quiet.
It sleeps two people. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, with games and books. The ceilings are low in some places because it's old. Tudor times, they reckon.
The quayside is literally steps away. There are two fish shops very close. The high street is a two minute walk. The pub is about 100 yards down the road. For a proper walk, you can go past the sea water baths and out onto the salt marshes in about ten minutes.
The ferry to the Isle of Wight is nearby if you fancy a day trip. The New Forest starts just outside town. You'll see the ponies on the roads. Good for walking and cycling.
Within half an hour's drive you've got Beaulieu and the motor museum, Exbury Gardens, and Bucklers Hard. Further out, maybe 40 minutes, you've got the coastline at Bournemouth and Poole.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
