Plover Cottage

Plover Cottage is in Milford on Sea. It's a detached house about 200 yards from the pub. The locals used to call it the 'curious angular house'. It was the shoemaker's house once, then a dentist's surgery. It's old, about two hundred years.

It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. The stairs inside are a bit steep in places, just so you know.

The beach is a ten minute walk. You can see Hurst Castle from there. It's about a mile and a half walk along the spit to get to it. There's a ferry from Keyhaven if you don't fancy the walk.

There's good birdwatching five minutes away at Sturt Pond. There's a hide you can use.

The village has shops and pubs. There's one 200 yards up the road that does food. The coastal path goes from Keyhaven Nature Reserve into Lymington. That's a good walk.

Lymington is about five miles. You can get the ferry to the Isle of Wight from there. The New Forest starts just outside the village. It's good for walking and cycling.

Further out, within about half an hour's drive, you've got places like Beaulieu, the motor museum, or Christchurch. Bournemouth and Poole are along the coast.

Facilities wise: it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and parking on site. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
