Richmond 2

This house is in Norton, which is on the west side of the Isle of Wight. It's not far from Yarmouth. They call it Richmond 2.

It's a modern, single-storey cottage, so everything is on one level. That makes it good if stairs are a problem. There's a ramp to the front door. The layout is open plan. You walk into the main living area, which has the kitchen, dining space, and sofas all together. Patio doors open out to a terrace at the back. It's a sunny spot.

It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms: two with king-size beds, one with a double, and a kids' room with bunk beds. There are two bathrooms. One is an ensuite with a shower over the bath. The other is a shower room.

There's a wood burner for colder nights. The kitchen has a range-style cooker, two fridges, a freezer, and a dishwasher. The Wi-Fi works fine.

Outside, there's a terrace with garden furniture. The holiday village it's in is car-free, so it's safe for kids to run around. You park your car in a guest car park a short walk away.

The coast path is right nearby for walks. The beach at Norton is about three quarters of a mile. Yarmouth is a couple of miles away. It's a nice little harbour town with places to eat and a few shops. The West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the walking and views are very good.

Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking in the car park. No pets. If you're coming over on the ferry, the owner can sometimes get you discounted tickets with Wightlink.
