Solent Point is the name of the place. It's in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. They're actually three identical bungalows next to each other, but you just rent one. They're on a cliff top.
The view is why you'd book it. It looks straight out over The Solent to the mainland. You can see the Needles a little way along the coast.
The bungalow sleeps two. Two bedrooms, but only two people total. There are three bathrooms though, which is a lot, but it's because they're all the same. It's all on one level, so you don't have any stairs. You can drive right up and park next to it.
Inside, it's clean and straightforward. It's got a 3 Star rating. The main room is open plan. There's a patio with a garden bit that’s yours to use.
Being on the cliff, it's peaceful, but you have to be careful with kids or if anyone's unsteady. There's a fence, but the drop is there.
A few minutes' walk on the site there's a pitch and putt course, some crazy golf, and a kids' play area. It's shared with the other properties.
The nearest beach is Colwell Bay. It's a short walk down. It's sandy and shingly, good for swimming. There's a bar and a café there. The actual Needles landmark attraction with the chairlift and everything is a short drive west.
For a bigger sandy beach with surf, Compton Bay is about a ten minute drive. They find dinosaur fossils there sometimes.
In Freshwater village, there's a shop very close by. For a pub or restaurant, you're looking at a walk of about a mile and a half.
If you want to explore, Cowes is about twenty minutes by car. Osborne House is maybe half an hour. The whole west side of the island is good for walking and cycling. The coastal path runs right past.
Facilities: bedding is included, there's a washing machine, parking. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. No pets.
