Danehurst Cottage

Danehurst Cottage is in Tiptoe, up a quiet lane that doesn't go any further. The views from the back are over fields. You'll often see the New Forest ponies grazing there.

It sleeps eight, no sofa beds or anything. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's a family home really, good if you've got kids.

There's a decent-sized garden that's fully enclosed, which is handy. Parking for a couple of cars on the drive.

You're in the New Forest National Park here. The heath and woods start almost at the end of the lane. Good for walks and cycling. The cycle tracks are mostly flat.

A pub is about half a mile away, they do food. The nearest shop for basics is a mile and a half. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Lymington. That's about five miles. It's a proper sailing town with a marina.

The coast is close. Keyhaven has a shingle beach and marshes, good for a walk. For sandy beaches, you'd go to Bournemouth or Poole, which is about a 30 minute drive.

If you want days out, Beaulieu Motor Museum is nearby. So is Exbury Gardens. For kids, Peppa Pig World and Marwell Zoo are within half an hour.

Inside, it's got what you'd need. Woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi. We provide bedding and towels. It's baby and toddler friendly, we've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate.

You can bring two dogs. The garden is enclosed but it's not Fort Knox, so keep an eye on them with the ponies about.
