Fair Isle Holiday Cottages - Fisher
This is Fisher, one of a set of new cottages we've got out by Newport. It's detached. The big thing is it's all on the ground floor, so it's suitable if steps are a problem. The doorways and internal spaces are wider too.
It was built in 2020, so everything feels new and clean. The main living space is open plan. You've got the kitchen with a proper dining area, then the sitting area with doors that open right up onto a deck. The deck runs the length of the house. You get the sunrise and sunset from there, over the fields. There's a wrap-around garden, so plenty of space if you've got kids or dogs. You can park two, maybe three cars right outside.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. They're both shower rooms, one has a walk-in rain shower. Everything's included - bedding, towels, WiFi.
You're a mile from the local shop and a pub. The pub does food. The beach at Ryde is about a ten-minute drive.
Location-wise, it's central. You're set back from the main road to Newport. Walking or cycling into Newport is possible via the bridle paths. For getting further out, the bus stop is a five-minute walk.
Lots of the main island attractions are within a half-hour drive. Osborne House is nearby, and so is Carisbrooke Castle. If you've got kids, Robin Hill Adventure Park is close. The Arreton Barns crafts and shopping centre is just down the road.
