Longford Cottage is in Havenstreet. It's a quiet village in the middle of the Island. It's a two bedroom cottage that sleeps five. One of the bedrooms is downstairs.
It's been refurbished, so everything is fresh. The bathroom is new and quite nice. There's a snug room with a chair bed, and that's got the best view of the garden and fields.
The stairs are standard. There's space in a utility room for boots, coats, bikes, or kayaks if you bring them. The garden isn't huge but it's private, with a table and chairs.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-finished. There are Sonos speakers in the main rooms if you want music.
Havenstreet is small. There's a good pub about a five minute walk away. They do food. The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is here too, which is a proper heritage line. It's an easy walk from the cottage.
Ryde is about two miles away for shops and the beach. The beach there is sandy when the tide's out. For swimming most people go to the south coast, like Ventnor or Sandown, which is about a twenty minute drive.
You're well placed for getting around. Cowes and Yarmouth are about twenty five minutes by car. Osborne House is nearby near East Cowes. The English Heritage page for Osborne has the visitor details. The Needles and Alum Bay are about forty minutes drive.
In terms of things here: there's parking for one car on the drive, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
For walking or cycling, there are trails from the village into the countryside. Visit Isle of Wight is the official site for maps and ideas.
