Longford Cottage is in Havenstreet, which is a small village inland. You're about four miles from the beach at Ryde.
It's had a refurbishment, so everything is new and works. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-fitted. Sleeps five, but that's with one person on the single chair bed in the snug. Two proper double bedrooms, one downstairs. One bathroom. The bathroom is the thing everyone comments on, it's a bit special.
You've got a good garden with a nice view over the fields. The patio doors from the kitchen open straight onto it. There's a handy storage room just inside the front door for boots, wet coats, bikes, that sort of thing.
It's got Sonos speakers fitted, so you can play music in any room if that's your thing.
Havenstreet itself is quiet. There's a decent pub that does food. The main attraction here is the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, which is award-winning. Good for a trip out. The village is a start point for some cycle trails if you're bringing bikes.
For beaches and shops, you'll want Ryde. It's about a ten minute drive. The sailing towns like Yarmouth and Cowes are a bit further, maybe twenty to thirty minutes by car. For a proper day out, a lot of people go to The Needles or Osborne House. You're pretty central, so nothing on the island is more than about half an hour away.
Facilities are all there: parking, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. It says 'Luxury Property' on the list, which I suppose means it's done to a high standard.
