Black Pan Holiday Cottage
Black Pan is a ground floor flat attached to our house. It's down a bridle path, so no through traffic. It sleeps two, with one bedroom and a bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up nicely.
The kitchen is small but cleverly fitted. There's a big shower with two sinks. The bed is a good one. The garden out the back is enclosed and private, with a lockable gate.
You can bring two dogs. We've had dogs ourselves, so it's set up for them. There's an outside tap for washing off paws or bikes.
Lake beach is the closest, about a three quarter of a mile walk. It's quieter than Sandown or Shanklin because you have to go down some steps. The sand is good and the water's shallow. There's a watersports school there if you fancy it.
You can walk along the sea wall path from Lake into Sandown one way or Shanklin the other. It's flat and easy. Sandown has a pier, amusements, and the Isle of Wight Zoo. Shanklin has the Chine, which is a wooded gorge with lights on at night.
Further afield, you've got places like Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle. The Needles are about a 40 minute drive. The sailing is at Cowes and Yarmouth.
There's a shop and a pub a couple of minutes' walk away. The pub does food.
Facilities included are: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, parking, and all bedding and towels. It's open plan inside.
