Sunny South Lodge
Sunny South Lodge is in Sandown. It's a detached wooden chalet, which means it's all on one level and you don't have any neighbours through the walls.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a ramp to the front door so it's fairly easy to get a wheelchair in, but the bathroom door is a standard width. It's all open plan inside.
The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for dogs. We take up to two. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. The WiFi is okay.
You're about a five minute walk from the beach path. It's sand and shingle down there. There are a couple of cafes on the beach. For a bigger sandy beach and the pier, Sandown is about a twenty minute walk. Or you can get the Island Line train from Lake station, which is three minutes. The train is small and fun.
The local shops at Lake are a few minutes away. There's a newsagent, a fish and chip shop, and an Indian takeaway. There's a pub about 400 yards up the road.
If you walk the other way for twenty minutes, or take the train for three minutes, you get to Shanklin. They've got more restaurants, the old village, and Shanklin Chine. The coastal path runs right past the door if you want to walk it.
