The cottage is called Dory. It's in Sandown on the Isle of Wight. It's an apartment on the third and fourth floor of a building.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Sandown Bay. Big window, sea right there. The beach is sandy and it's about ten yards from the front door.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. Being on the third floor, there are stairs. Just so you know.
Everything you need is close. There's a shop about fifty yards away, and a pub and a restaurant just outside. The place has WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
Sandown itself is a traditional seaside town. There's a pier with amusements, a play area, and pitch and putt. The Isle of Wight Zoo and Dinosaur Isle are at the north end of the beach.
For days out, you can drive to places like The Needles or Blackgang Chine within about half an hour. Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle are also nearby. Shanklin Chine is worth a look. Good walking all over, especially along the coast.
